Lo hizo desde el frente occidental. <!--more-->Su participaci\u00f3n debi\u00f3 ser decisiva en la contenci\u00f3n de los astures y el control de los Galaicos para evitar que se uniesen a los c\u00e1ntabros,gracias a \u00e9sto gan\u00f3 el apelativo de Victrix. Despu\u00e9s del 19 a.C. permaneci\u00f3 acantonada\u00a0 en los alrededores de Asturica Augusta (Astorga). Se cree que pudo participar en la fundaci\u00f3n de Lucus Augusta (Lugo). Parte de sus veteranos fueron licenciados y junto a veteranos de la IIII Maced\u00f3nica y X G\u00e9mina comenzaron en fechas a\u00fan discutidas,la construcci\u00f3n de la nueva Caesaraugusta. Desde 5 a. C. se trasladar\u00e1 a la provincia tarraconensis y llegar\u00e1 a compartir oficiales con la X G\u00e9mina.
