C. y el historiador Plinio el Viejo,en el siglo I d. C.,ya hacen referencia a la colonia Barcino,llam\u00e1ndola este \u00faltimo tambi\u00e9n,Faventia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parece que Barcino podr\u00eda ser la sucesora de Barkeno,un poblado \u00edbero que se encontraba en Montjuic donde se han encontrado restos arqueol\u00f3gicos,es decir,que tendr\u00eda un nombre de origen prerromano. El nombre de Barkeno se conoce por monedas del siglo III a. C.,para facilitar el asentamiento de veteranos de las guerras c\u00e1ntabras,parecer\u00eda acertado pensar que se trata de una invocaci\u00f3n a la familia Iulia y al propio Augusto; en cuanto a la denominaci\u00f3n de Faventia Paterna,podr\u00eda ser una alusi\u00f3n a la posici\u00f3n de Barcino en las luchas entre C\u00e9sar y Pompeyo (ref. Pierre Vilar).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faventia podr\u00eda ser simplemente el nombre que los colonos pusieron a la colonia y Paterna se a\u00f1adir\u00eda posteriormente cuando Augusto lleg\u00f3 a Hispania,nombre que derivar\u00eda de la palabra latina <em>paterns<\/em> que implicar\u00eda una relaci\u00f3n de parentesco como fundador de la colonia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sabemos,por una inscripci\u00f3n encontrada en unas excavaciones,realizadas en los a\u00f1os 70,en la Pl.
