Cada a\u00f1o,durante la festividad del Corpus,la tradici\u00f3n de \u00abl’ou com balla\u00bb (\u00abel huevo como baila\u00bb) se instala en el claustro de la Catedral. Es una costumbre que consiste en hacer bailar un huevo en el surtidor del claustro,ornamentado con flores y frutas. Antes de colocar el huevo encima del surtidor de la fuente,se vac\u00eda y posteriormente se sella con cera para tapar el agujero creado para su vaciado. A continuaci\u00f3n se coloca encima del surtidor y \u00e9ste empieza a girar y girar,dando la sensaci\u00f3n de que est\u00e1 bailando,de ah\u00ed su nombre,\u00bbl’Ou com Balla\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

La Catedral de Barcelona fue la primera en presentar \u00abl’Ou com Balla\u00bb en Barcelona,al menos desde 1636.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aunque esta tradici\u00f3n se ha extendido a otros surtidores de la ciudad. Poco se sabe acerca del motivo que origin\u00f3 la tradici\u00f3n; la primera de las teor\u00edas indica que el huevo representa la Eucarist\u00eda durante el Corpus mientras que la segunda hace hincapi\u00e9 en que representa la fecundidad y el renacer de una nueva vida. Sobre su origen,todo parece indicar que \u00e9ste tuvo lugar en la Catedral de Barcelona entre el siglo XV y el siglo XVII,dependiendo de las fuentes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
